Thanks for the extra explanation, this is much helpful. Unfortunately I
don't think this meets the bar for updates to stable; I wouldn't mind
seeing this lumped in with a fix for a more severe issue in the future,
but on its own I think the bug is minor enough to not bother. Sorry.
