Replying to my own post, I should point out that there were a handful of new tags added and a handful of bugs fixed within the first several days. What I'm actually working with is 3.7.0 with patches from CVS up to about November 11. I feel compelled to mention this in case it causes someone to change their feelings about whether this should be in sarge or not. Upstream developers consider the CVS version stable at that point.
