hello everyone, jurij hacked a new packaging scheme for the debian-kernel (d-k). interested parties may either want to read the thread "New uniform packaging scheme" or check out kernel/branches/kernel-image-2.6.11/ in the alioth d-k svn.
latest name wishes indicate linux-kernel as the name of this unified package. plan a continue as usual with the old packaging transition unrelated to new upstream plan b pick up occasion of new upstream and kick this new packaging into action. kernels outside the d-k repo would be left into the cold until they join in. personally i'm in favour of plan b, as different source bases encourage to keep patches apart. instead of fixing them up. also new upstream will provide better test coverage. thanks for your feedback. -- maks -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
