The problem here is that if we recommed this package then almost everyone will 
get pango and gtk2 "for free"... even when not using 
Gnome/cinnamon/<add a gtk based desktop here>.

Sune proposed a hack to try to mitigate this, if he gets to code it we can try 
it.
