True. This is the case since 1:4.2.4~rc2-1: # zcat /usr/share/doc/libreoffice-kde/NEWS.Debian.gz libreoffice (1:4.2.4~rc2-1) experimental; urgency=low * This version has some more KDE4 patches backported from libreoffice-4-2 branch. (so they would have been in 4.2.5 proper anyways). This also means that the KDE integration code now also contains a runtime check for a Qt function - without that one the KDE File Picker is completey flaky and will crash often (see e.g. #743221 and #742675). This effectively means the the KDE File Picker is still built and included in this package but de-facto disabled until Qt is fixed. -- Rene Engelhard <r...@debian.org> Thu, 01 May 2014 12:42:05 +0200 done by libreoffice (1:4.2.4~rc2-1) experimental; urgency=low * new upstream release candidate * debian/patches/kde4-fixes.diff: add patch to "prevent KDE/Qt from interfering with the session manager" from libreoffice-4-2. Remove obsolete rest which was never applied anyway * debian/patches/fix-kfileficker-crashes.diff: as name says, backported from libreoffice-4-2, really - or again? - closes: #743221) [...] I believe you want a stable open/save dialogue and not one which crashes all the time (and maybe you loose your data then).. > It would be really great if you could activate the native KDE file picker > again. Yes, the fixes above are in Qts bugzilla and the Debian Qt Maintainers know[1]. Until then nothing I can do. When I know the Qt version this is fixed in I'll make -kde depend on that... And if Qt is fixed, the KDE file picker is magically enabled again as the actual check is runtime, not build time.
