Indeed I get a segfault as well after a private key is generated - but after starting Kopete again, the private key is used successfully. Of course, this is not a proper solution. Upstream has lots of commits in top of the OTR port, but none mention OTR specifically (except for a simple cmake fix). I will have to try whether Kopete master still suffers from this crash, and get in contact with upstream.
University keeps me busy though, so I can't promise when I can do all this. If that helps speeding up things, please feel free to ignore this bug for the KDE 4.11 series.
