Hi, you're maintaining a package which links to libgps18, so please note that an upload of gpsd and libgps19 to unstable will happen soon - as soon as upstream released the new version. What you should know is: - gpsd uses a new shiny, json-based protocol, but is still supposed to work well with the old one - if your program is using libgps, it should just keep working fine with the new one, although the library will use the new protocol to talk with gpsd behind the scenes. Nothing to worry about. - if you program does messy thing, like using parts of the old protocol which were deprecated since a long time - you may be in trouble, or not. - if you program links libgps, but doesn't use the library's functions at all (don't ask, we had at least one of them in the archive) *TALK TO UPSTREAM AND GET THE MESS FIXED*.
In any case please test if you package build fine with the new libgps, which just arrived in experimental, based on a svn snapshot from last night.
