Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.5.dfsg.1-6
Severity: normal
Since upgrade to kdelibs 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-8 kmail has problems with passwords
stored in the configuration file. As configured, it tries to connect to
a pop server on startup but fails due to a password problem. I uncheck the
'store password box' in Configure Kmail/Accounts and enter the password
manually, it
works correctly. If I check 'store password' now and insist on putting it in
the
configuration file, the password works until exit of kmail.
The problem does not occur with all passwords - some (other user account) do
not
show the problem.
My guess is that something goes wrong when the password is 'encrypted' into
binary
form and read again from the configuration file afterwards. The mentioned
upgrade
was a security fix involving a change to UTF-8 parsing.
Stefan.

Hi!
I cannot reproduce this any longer. Closing. Feel free to reopen if you are
able to do it, and note that storing passwords in kwallet is preferred from a
security pov.

I cannot rename the memory, how does it work?
You either should doubleclick the fan of the TCP/IP button, or must save a
hard disk in order to send a space bar.
