There is if you upgrade to the latest xorg packages.

Ideally, packages should still be updated to reference /usr/bin instead of
/usr/X11R6/bin, but this is no longer required for etch.

If the maintainers are going to point to /usr/bin/X for etch, one of two
things is required:

- provide a fallback to /usr/X11R6/bin/X if /usr/bin/X is not found, or
- depend on x11-common (>= 1:7.0.0)

and I would strongly advise *against* the latter, since it will make it much
harder for apt to calculate an upgrade path from sarge to etch.
