Tasksel did not work (perhaps change unstable -> testing confused it). I said to installers: "Install kde and you'll get everything you need." It didn't work, because xserver did not get selected. I don't see any reason why kde should not depend on xserver. xserver-xfree86 'Provides: xserver'. All xservers don't provide 'xserver', but that is easy to fix. Installing should be made as easy as possible for inexperienced users. (All new users are more or less inexperienced.) --------------------------------------- Received: (at 237649-close) by bugs.debian.org; 16 Nov 2004 21:53:35 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Nov 16 13:53:35 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CUBGY-00021c-00; Tue, 16 Nov 2004 13:53:34 -0800 Received: from katie by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CUBAE-00058o-00; Tue, 16 Nov 2004 16:47:02 -0500 From: Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.51 $ Subject: Bug#237649: fixed in meta-kde 5:42 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 16:47:02 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: X-CrossAssassin-Score: 2 Source: meta-kde Source-Version: 5:42 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of meta-kde, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: kde-amusements_42_all.deb to pool/main/m/meta-kde/kde-amusements_42_all.deb kde-core_42_all.deb to pool/main/m/meta-kde/kde-core_42_all.deb kde-devel_42_all.deb to pool/main/m/meta-kde/kde-devel_42_all.deb kde_42_all.deb to pool/main/m/meta-kde/kde_42_all.deb meta-kde_42.dsc to pool/main/m/meta-kde/meta-kde_42.dsc meta-kde_42.tar.gz to pool/main/m/meta-kde/meta-kde_42.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
