So, after some more tries I suggest that the problem is in file-handling of files contained in the ~/Mail directory.
It looks like the copy process from the window to the outbox or from outbox to the kio-slave causes this problem. Maybe this should be noted somewhere in a README if not fixed before next upload. Cheers helmut
