For example, if I am sent a link such as http://example.com/file.pdf through psi, or even in an email received in kmail, clicking on the link will open kghostview, open the "Loading progress" dialogue, and sit there at 0% indefinitely. However, cancelling the loading dialogue, and then opening the location through file->open recent causes the file to be opened immediately. Obviously this is a bit of a pain, and will definitely cause trouble for those who are not aware of the workaround.
