Hello, you can get what you ask for with:
Preferences...
Configure Kmail...
(last option)...
Ask about action to take when dragging (or something
like that, I'm using
KMail in Spanish, sorry).
Uncheck it and you are done.
That way you *always* move messages, the old behaviour.
