Hello team OpenQA,

My name is Charles P, and I’m reaching out to express my keen interest in
contributing to the Debian Images Testing with OpenQA project under the
Outreachy December 2025 cohort.

A bit about me:

   - Background in software testing and cybersecurity
   - Skilled in Python, Git, and Linux environments
   - Hands-on experience in functional and QA testing
   - Familiar with virtual machines and automation workflows

This project resonates deeply with me because I’m passionate about improving
system reliability through automated testing. I’m excited about the opportunity
to learn more about OpenQA and support Debian’s testing infrastructure.

So far, I’ve:

   - Joined the #debian-qa IRC channel (username: sheltcp1)
   - yet to reviewed the openqa-tests-debian repository.
   - Not yet Started reading through the project documentation and setup guide

My next steps to get involved include:

   - Setting up a VM to test and boot Debian images (Already have Kali Linux
Installed in my VM)
   - Installing OpenQA using the instructions at openqa.debian.net/install.html
   - Selecting a desktop environment to test and documenting my workflow
   - Preparing my Git environment for contributions

I’d love some direction on:

   - Which desktop environment or installer area would be best to start testing?
   - Current high-priority areas in need of attention?
   - Any advice for new contributors setting up OpenQA efficiently?

I’m eager to collaborate, learn, and meaningfully contribute to the team’s
success.

Warm Regards,
Promise Charles.
