2.6 is way more modular than previous kernel lines. With the -tiny patch sets from Matt Mackell you can minimize memory consumption down to system with only 2 megs of RAM: http://www.selenic.com/tiny-about/ It's not currently packaged in Debian, though. Cheers, Moritz
