-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm not a DD, but I plan on starting the application process a little later in the spring.
I have been looking through orphaned packages list to find things to take over as part of my application process. The xwave package has been orphaned, and I have filed an ITA on it. However, in looking at the code, the last time anyone did major work on it was August of 2000, and the last time the code base was updated was August of 1999. I think that the source package is basically dead, and it's not worth maintaining the debian infrastructure for it. [section 5.9.2 of the Developer's Reference indicated that this list is the place to discuss removal of orphaned packages.] A broader question: As I go through the orphaned list, would it be useful if I were to point out packages that were very out of date and decrepit, and probably needed to be removed? Please cc me, as I am not subscribed to debian-qa. Thanks for any information.
