Nuutti is one of the upstream developers of subversion, so knows what he's talking about. John Goerzen did promise to update the package in #171987, but hasn't yet done so ... Given that upstream releases currently take place every couple of weeks and that the maintainer of the normal subversion packages is also an upstream committer, it's not clear to me that snapshot packages are very useful at the moment, although they could be of more use after subversion goes 1.0.
