I got a "floating point exception" using mpeg_encode with the following parameter: mpeg_encode -combine_gops parameter_file in combination with a non empty GOP_INPUT-section. I used the binary Version 1.5b from a Debian/Linux package but also the source version ucbmpeg_1r2.orig.tar.gz did not work. The problem occurs in mpeg_encode/frametype.c in the function int FType_Type(int frameNum); in the final else-clause frameNum % framePatternLen because framePatternLen = 0. Therefore I replaced in mpeg_encode/main.c in main() the line ComputeFrameTable(); by: if(function != COMBINE_GOPS) ComputeFrameTable(); Now it works fine.
