Package: kdevelop Version: 1:1.4.0-3.1 Severity: normal Hi. Package kdevelop currently installs the script /usr/bin/extractrc. This is actually part of the KDE SDK (as noted at the beginning of /usr/bin/extractrc), and once the next kdesdk is packaged there will be a conflict between packages kdevelop and kdesdk-scripts.
Although package kdesdk-scripts currently does not include /usr/bin/extractrc, the next version (which will be the 2.2 alpha release on April 16) will. Since the source of the script is the KDE SDK, I would prefer if this file could remain in kdesdk-scripts. kdesdk-scripts is a very small package (Installed-Size: 85). Perhaps kdevelop could omit /usr/bin/extractrc and instead recommend kdesdk-scripts? If you choose to do this, please let me know and I'll build a new 2.1.1 kdesdk-scripts package that includes /usr/bin/extractrc that I can upload immediately so there is no need to wait till the 2.2 alpha release. Since an ITA has been recently issued on kdevelop, I am CCing this bug report to the proposed new maintainer.
