Subject: vrweb uses /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults

Package: vrweb
Version: 1.5-6.1
Severity: serious

vrweb is still using the old /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults directory.
This directory is obsolete, and files in it are no longer used. Moreover,
until everything is moved out of this directory to the new location,
/etc/X11/app-defaults/, the maintainer of X cannot symlink the two
directories in the way he would like to.

So, please rebuild your package and make it put app-defaults files in
/etc/X11/app-defaults/. It if uses imake and you build it with a vaguely
recent debian X package, this will happen automatically.

This bug report was generated automatically, and was filed with the
"serious" severity since using the old directory violates an accepted
policy amendment.

Hi,

vrweb is now maintained by the Debian QA Group, and has no outstanding
bugs. It seems silly to leave its bugs stranded in the "fixed in NMU"
state, and I fixed the last of them in a QA upload anyway, so I'm
closing them.

Here are the relevant changelog entries:

vrweb (1.5-6.2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Debian QA upload.
  * The maintainer has orphaned this package (see bug #87388). Set
    maintainer to Debian QA Group.
  * Update policy version to 3.5.2:
    - Added build dependencies.
    - Moved to FHS-compliant locations for X11 stuff.
    - Use debhelper v3 so that we can use dh_installman and avoid
      /usr/X11R6/man.
  * Use /etc/X11/app-defaults (closes: #86297).
  * Suggests: netscape instead of Netscape | Mosaic (closes: #59179). At the
    moment it calls 'netscape -remote' for various things, but having
    netscape isn't essential.
  * Remove the extra copy of the GPL from the installed documentation.
  * Remove deprecated dh_testversion call.

  * The sponsee add a new man page (Closes: Bug#39467).

vrweb (1.5-6) unstable; urgency=low

  * Added man page. (Closes: #39467)

vrweb (1.5-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * Update Provides to vrml-browser. (Closes: #52808)
  * Update Description since vrwave is now available. (Closes: #52810)
