yes i currently have "native sound drivers" selected. then i started playing with the three different sound driver settings in realplayer, and i find for two options in real player (native, older OSS) i get a freeze when xmms is in pause mode, and when realplayer is in esd mode, i get an error message:
"Cannot open the audio device. Another application may be using it." and /dev/dsp: Device or resource busy gets printed on the command line. so i may leave it set in esd mode, because atleast then it tells me what is wrong, and starts working fine after i stop xmms (even though i have esd installed but not running), and that means i'll be safe from the realplayer script getting overwritten in the next upgrade and me losing the "xmms --stop" i just put in there. thanks. cheers, m.
