I don't know of a package including that file. None of our current versions does contain that file. > nonetheless what happened is I would use xf86config to configure my system > with a voodoo rush card, say no to the card data base.. and choose > XF86_SVGA.. now the problem is I lost the file svga_drv.o I wonder if you are using Debian 2.2 aka potato (which is our latest released version), testing or even unstable. The latter are nothing for a linux newbie. And potato does not have XF4.0, so your server should include anything you need to support your graphics device - no need for svga_drv.o. In case you are really running XFree 4 you would probably need the tdfx_drv.o (driver tdfx), but I don't have a Voodoo Rush to check. Neither do I know if the XF86_SVGA driver of potato actually supports your card. Do you perhaps have the error message output from the X server? And, BTW, this is the wrong list for such a question.
