Well, because update-alternatives failed (which someone said is a known dpkg bug), the rest of the packages fail to configure. But the other day, I had packages fail to configure, which ran just fine when I run "apt-get dist-upgrade" a second time. It looked like apt was just ordering the installation incorrectly, which is surprising since that's something that it's always done really well. Hamish -- Hamish Moffatt VK3SB.
