Speaking with my gconf maintaner hat on, "main purpose" does not make other usages invalid. gconf usage is not a valid reason for removal from Debian, and alternatives like ripping gconf support out of packages or package removal are worse than keeping gconf support in a package in buster. To avoid misunderstandings, it is a bug to still use gconf. But not an RC bug for buster. > On behalf of the Debian GNOME team, > Jeremy Bicha cu Adrian -- "Is there not promise of rain?"
