gkermit fails to cross build from source, because it does not pass cross tools to make. The simplest way to fix that is using dh_auto_build. When doing so, it fails to cross build with an Exec format error while running ./gwart. It turns out that gwart is a build tool and needs to be built for the build architecture. The attached patch takes care of that and makes gkermit cross buildable. Please consider applying it. Helmut
