Package: autotrace
Version: 0.31.1-7
Severity: normal
autotrace has a -background-color <color> parameter to control which
color is used as transparent. However by default there is no background
color, and there is no way to specify "transparent" as the background
color. So to get transparency in the image you have to do some magick
to convert the transparent color into a different, unused color, then
use -transparent-background <color> on this color.
If there is some way to use transparency, then it's not very well
documented. The help for -background-color says only RGB values may be
used.
I suggest that the default background color be transparent. And also
that the <color> parameter may be any color string supported by
SVG/imagemagick.
