Package: b43-fwcutter Version: 1:013-2
Installed b43-fwcutter in Squeeze/PPC and it did not extract the required firmware into /lib/firmware. I did it manually after downloading the broadcom-wl-4.178.10.4.tar.bz2 tarball. export FIRMWARE_INSTALL_DIR="/lib/firmware" wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/broadcom-wl-4.178.10.4.tar.bz2 tar xjf broadcom-wl-4.178.10.4.tar.bz2 cd broadcom-wl-4.178.10.4/linux sudo b43-fwcutter -w "$FIRMWARE_INSTALL_DIR" wl_apsta.o Then a reboot and my Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03) worked as it should be. The b43-fwcutter program should do this automatically after installation. In Debian Lenny/PPC it works fine.
