When downloading a URL where the filename has %nn sequences (eg, spaces), GTM
and Wget seem to disagree on what the file on the filesystem should be named.
GTM thinks it should be URL-encoded, while Wget thinks it should be URL-
decoded. The effect of this is that several of GTM's features break, such as
tracking and display of download progress. I'm not sure if the file itself
gets corrupted by this, but I wouldn't be surprised...
Here's an example scenario.
I tell GTM to download the URL
http://www.example.com/files/This%20filename%20has%20spaces
On GTM's download info pane, it says
Url: http://www.example.com/files/This%20filename%20has%20spaces
File: This%20filename%20has%20spaces
...etc...
However, Wget creates a file named
This filename has spaces
and GTM doesn't know that, causing the above stated problems.
I suggest that, for safety's sake, GTM attempt to simply parse Wget
output to figure out the local file name. In that case, GTM could never
be mistaken about the real name of the file.
