This document <http://people.redhat.com/drepper/sha-crypt.html> by Ulrich Drepper suggests that SHA-256 and SHA-512 are implemented in the GNU libc directly thus should be available in mod_auth_mysql using the Crypt type when run on a current GNU/Linux system. Current refers to libc 2.7 or newer.
