This means that all packages created from, say, linux-2.4.23.tar.bz2 are different version of kernel-image-2.4.23 and cannot be distinguished by the packaging system. It would be nice if kernellab automatically added an extraversion, resulting in packages named kernel-image-2.4.23-router1, kernel-image-2.4.23-router2 and so on. The required change to kernellab is both trivial and small.
