I tried to recreate this bug, using a pbuilder chroot for sarge, and it built OK for me. There didn't seem to be any problems with the build. As far as I understand things, that means that the build-depends are OK. But maybe I got something wrong with pbuilder.
What made it FTBFS for you? Were you using a chroot?Is there any more information you can give me that would help me to recreate the bug?
