Package: weblint
Version: 1.93-1.1
Severity: normal

Folks,

If I feed a document which does not have a DOCTYPE line, such as

  <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

then weblint doesn't seem to mind (even if we have -pedantic).

However, http://validator.w3.org complains vehemently about a URL
where this line is missing - he refuses to proceed.

I'm no language lawyer, but it seems to me that weblint and validator
should be compatible? (I used to always think that validator was
running weblint as his internal implementation).

        -ans.

weblint has been removed from Debian unstable because it had no
maintainer for 1.5 years and because there are better replacements,
such as weblint-perl.
