Package: hylafax-client Version: 1:4.1.1-3 Severity: normal The source is not provided for the debian-faxcover.tex file that is used to generate the /etc/hylafax/faxcover.ps file. This greatly complicates modifying the fax cover sheet, which is virtually required because the default fax cover sheet is laid out in such a fashion that the Debian Logo covers over several of the other fields (see also bug #153290 which is approaching two years old).
I believe that Debian Policy is that all source code is to be shipped for applications; and that source code is supposed to be in the easiest modifiable form for someting. faxcover.ps does not have source code in this sense, as it is extremely difficult to edit the postscript manually (I spent over an hour manually trying to modify it before giving up and creating a whole new faxcover.ps and trying to merge in the hylafax template features). The original tex file from which it was obviously generated would be much easier to modify, possibly with whatever script inserted the necessary fields to link it to hylafax's system. If you were to include the source for faxcover.ps then it would probably also be possible to close bug #153290, possibly after minor tweaks to the source. A reference to: http://www.hylafax.org/howto/tweaking.html#ss6.2 (from comments on bug #153290) in the hylafax README.Debian would probably also be appropriate.
