Christian reasissgned this bug to gnome-terminal
I don't think this is correct, it should belong to gnome-control-center
Using gconf-editor you may notice that the following keys exist:
1. /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http
2. /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/https
changing the preferred browser application through the control-center
dialog only changes the first handler.
