Python 3.8 is now final beta and will be released in 2019-10. I expect it will be included in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0596/ I think it would be nice if Debian 11 is released with Python 3.9 instead of Python 3.8 which will be almost two years old.
