Hello,

I recently backported both python 2.6 and 2.7 (actually, 2.6.6-6 and 2.7-8)
to lenny for internal use; the packages (only available for amd64, sorry)
can be installed adding the following line to your sources.list:

deb http://packages.tranchitella.eu/public lenny main

Note: these backports cannot be (yet) uploaded to backports.debian.org
because the backported packages are not available in testing.

I plan to upload these packages to lenny-backports when these versions (or
new ones, if any) will migrate to testing. In the meantime, testing, bug
reports and/or suggestions are welcome.

Best regards.
