My initial request was then for 2 packages, pyparted and pyblock, which I wanted to have as a good python library for mingling with block devices. When I myself started working on packaging pyblock, I realized that it was tightly dependent on Fedora [1]. I worked it out with upstream and concluded that most of these sub-projects are only there to cater to Anaconda's requirements. So pyblock just got dropped. I am sure the same might be the case for the current liblvm (LVM Library Interface) that Red Hat is working on. > How to proceed from here? Here are some scenarios: > 1.
