on my system: #!/usr/bin/python* 209 programs #!/usr/bin/env python* 37 programs IMHO /usr/bin/python should be a rule and "/usr/bin/env python" - (very rare) exception (ipython or paster might qualify here) BTW: If you install Python scripts via "python setup.py ..."
