Even if there were a reasonable way to do this (and I don't believe there is, but you can show me an example of what you mean), python-apt 0.5.4.3 was built March 10th, 2002. This was before woody released, before there was any kind of C++ ABI transition plan, before there was even a g++-3.2 in the archive. Surely you aren't suggesting that last year's build-dependencies should have anticipated this year's compiler ABI change. -- - mdz
