Perhaps unreleated to a python2 script, but it seems that the web interface for subscribing and unsubscribing is currently broken.
For example, entering an email address and clicking subscribe on: https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/[1] Leads to: https://lists.debian.org/cgi-bin/subscribe.pl[2] With the body text: "No action provided."
