Package: www.debian.org Dear WWW Team, as you're probably aware of, we've discussed on -project [1] the proposal by Francesca Ciceri to publish a diversity statement for the Debian Project. There seems to be consensus on the idea. A week ago [2] I've anticipated that, as DPL, I'd have been happy to kindly ask you to publish a statement along the following lines:
------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Debian Project welcomes and encourages participation by everyone. It doesn't matter how you identify yourself or how others perceive you: we welcome you. We welcome contributions from everyone as long as they interact constructively with our community. While much of the work for our project is technical in nature, we value and encourage contributions from those with expertise in other areas, and welcome them into our community. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ No one has further objected, so I hereby ask you to go ahead and publish it on www.d.o. Further language improvements have been suggested starting at [2], which I haven't reviewed. Feel free to apply them or other language improvements as you see fit. Many thanks in advance, Cheers.
