Not to my recalling, but it'd be a nice tradition to establish indeed. I personally see no drawbacks in posting introduction on this list: 1) it has low traffic, 2) introducing new project members to the project discussion list seems (at least borderline) on topic, and 3) the flow of new DDs is not high enough to risk spam-ing anyone (IMHO at least). Also, if we include in introductions mail the actual interests of the new DDs, that might be a way for others to point them to project area that maybe they are not aware of and that might match their interests. That might help finding "new blood" for existing teams [1]. So, Olivier, why don't you go first? :-) Welcome on board! Cheers.
