Hi Frans, I completely agree with you that there must not be more than one major transition in CUT releases when you say "I hope very much that everybody involved in such a scheme will also commit to spending at least 40 hours on testing upgrade paths and helping edit the release notes at the time of a release." I think that in the CUT framework, the upgrade path from stable to CUT-n converges to the upgrade path from stable to stable+1 as n grows. Of course it does not so naturally, but it will by the concerted work of the Debian developers, by not making two major transitions in the same CUT-serie.
