Apple Performa 6200 runs debian , HCL on penguinppc has erroneus information
on it.
The Debian ppc page refers to the penguinppc page regarding hardware
compatibility.

I send penguinppc an email, but the message was rejected.
I hope that my findings are of any use to you.

    * Performa 5200, 5300, 6200, 6300 (except 6360 - supported)

Maybe you could write: Running, but with inofficial kernel patches ?!
 --
ok, this 6200 runs with 64 Mb of Dram and a 10 Gig HD, I built in a Nic from

drbott respectively

Did a network install over my dsl router.

Main Site where I obtained installation info and the kernels I run:

http://nubus-pmac.sourceforge.net/
 --
I just wonder why this machine is regarded unsupported.
 --
Is it because of the kernel Patches which are regarded inofficial ?!
 --
Well, still I have no X11 running, maybe thats the point.

Performa/PowerMac 5200/5300/6200/6300 family support

As of July 31, 2000, the PowerMac 5200/5300/6200/6300 family of computers, and
their Performa equivalents, are officially supported in MkLinux. Please NOTE
that only the 6214 has been tested, so there may be some small snags in some of
the others.

CAVEATS:

    * Sound is not supported yet. That's the next priority....
    * SCSI is working, but rather slow. It's partially hardware at fault, and
partially a lack of pseudo-DMA code. Oh well. It "mostly works." As always,
your mileage may vary.
    * Serial is untested. It should work, but again, YMMV.

You can download the kernel from
ftp://ftp.mklinux.org/pub/kernels/wip/Mach_Kernel.PERFORMA.gz The README file
is here, in the same directory.
