There was a recent announcment on the Debian Developers announcement
list by the release manager. This is targeted at the developers and
should not be considered a promise to the end user. Debian
compromises on release schedule rather than release quality.

If you can fix bugs, see http://bugs.debian.org/release-critical/ and
submit patches.

The new installer does need testing. Please try it and submit good
bug reports when it breaks. Then try it a week later and submit bug
reports on the new bugs. The installer is discussed on the
debian-boot mailing list.

With Microsoft, failure is not an option. It is a standard feature.
