I'm sorry, I really don't care to discuss release engineering and how we engineer releases. I think we all agree it's currently broken and has to be fixed. But I'm too busy actually working to make things happen to be involved in whatever planning is going on (the package pool thing, I suppose) to fix the process. Nor do I have any control over or intention to join the ranks of the release team.
