Package: cups-browsed Version: 1.28.17-6+deb13u1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Periodically, printing stops working for me. When this happens: * The job status is shown as "No destination host name supplied by cups-browsed for printer "stig_dawn", is cups-browsed running?" * cups_error.log shows: E [09/Jul/2026:08:14:23 +0100] [Job 121] No destination host name supplied by cups-browsed for printer \"stig_dawn\", is cups-browsed running? W [09/Jul/2026:08:14:23 +0100] [Job 121] Backend implicitclass returned status 4 (stop printer) * Cancelling all pending jobs, then restarting cups-browsed, fixes the problem. I suspect that this is the same problem as upstream issue https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-browsed/issues/23. There is a fix to that linked from the issue, but as far as I know it has not been backported to cups-browsed v1. Please could you backport https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-browsed/commit/57d9351ea45f47b3bd185f263b1e37d276cf17b8 ? -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.94+deb13-rt-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C.UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages cups-browsed depends on: ii cups-daemon 2.4.10-3+deb13u2 ii init-system-helpers 1.69~deb13u1 ii libavahi-client3 0.8-16 ii libavahi-common3 0.8-16 ii libavahi-glib1 0.8-16 ii libc6 2.41-12+deb13u3 ii libcups2t64 2.4.10-3+deb13u2 ii libcupsfilters1t64 1.28.17-6+deb13u1 ii libglib2.0-0t64 2.84.4-3~deb13u3 ii libldap2 2.6.10+dfsg-1 ii sysvinit-utils [lsb-base] 3.14-4 Versions of packages cups-browsed recommends: ii avahi-daemon 0.8-16 cups-browsed suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/cups/cups-browsed.conf changed: DebugLogging stderr BrowseRemoteProtocols dnssd -- no debconf information
