Hi,
recently I bought a cheap "HP usb network print adapter", regulator model:
SDCAB-07-06, which doesnt work at all with linux.
I guess, upstream needs to add this functionality to hplip, there is nothing
you, the maintainers can do, since it doesnt seem to use either ipp or
jetdirect. According to nmap, it listens on port 34447 and sometimes (?!) on
34448.

Upstream has statedtheir position in 2008 at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/hplip/+bug/283728
but no action has been taken. I think it could be wishful thinking to
expect this enhancement request to be fulfilled any time soon.
Furthermore, the device in question does not appear to be available
except as a refurbished unit.
The question becomes - should we carry this bug in the BTS indefinitely?
I think not; hence closing. Sorry.
