Filipus, `hp-check -r` does not check for libusb-dev. `hp-check -c` does check to libusb-dev as it is a compile time requirement. `hp-check` by default checks for both. Your log shows correctly that you do not have libusb-dev installed and thus cannot compile hplip. Please submit the output from the runtime check `hp-check -r` to this bug report to verify that the checking logic is correct. Mark
