Hi all again,

so after a first round of discussions [0] , both on mailing lists and over
IRC, I propose to go ahead with the most consensual (at least as I see it):
the renaming of printer driver packages:

http://wiki.debian.org/Teams/Printing/RethinkingTheStack#Action_1_-_Rename_printing_driver_packages

For this step, I explicitely CCed the PTS addresses for the packages "not
under team umbrella", to gather their opinions. Just to be clear thereabout: I
think having a consistent naming is logical and sane, but I don't plan to
enforce that to any package maintainer.

So please comment on the plan (including proposed names, common packages, …).
If there is consensus, I'll probably begin the work for this "Action 1" at the
beginning of next week; of course I welcome coordinated help (IRC, mailing
lists, etc.)

Note that the initial proposal was to name the packages `printer-
driver-{Corp}-{Model}`, but it was too hard to get right; for example with
foo2zjs supporting models from HP, Minolta, … So I opted for `printer-
driver-{Upstream-Name}`. Same here; please comment.

Cheers,

OdyX
